I know many of us hate to start thinking about what lies ahead – another cold and snowy winter season! Now that we have passed Labor Day, we feel that summer is over, and we tend to forget that there is another season before winter actually arrives. It seems that the time starts passing more quickly, and we start to worry that we won’t get everything done ahead of that first snowfall. Of course, if you live down South or out West, you don’t think about such things.
It is the end of the gardening season, so we must clear the beds of spent plants and maybe sow a cover crop for green fertilizer for next year. We clean up our summer equipment like lawnmowers and rototillers and get them ready for winter storage. We prepare other pieces of equipment for the winter season ahead – snowblowers, plow blades or whatever equipment we need for snow removal. Some of us plant flower bulbs which need to freeze over the winter in order to bloom in the spring and summer.
There are many more chores too numerous to mention. But a very important thing to consider if you don’t have inside storage for some of your equipment, is the purchase of the appropriate covers to protect them from the elements. At snjcarcovers.com we have protective covers for all types of vehicles including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, limousines, campers and many others. Check out all of our covers.

Remember the movie “That Darned Cat” starring Hayley Mills? I’m really dating myself now! But I really do agree with that title.
Let me tell you about a darned cat that has chosen to take up residence with our two outdoor cats. She or he, whichever the case may be, is wild and won’t let us get within ten feet of her (I’ll refer to this cat as her for the sake of ease in writing my story), but she doesn’t hesitate to come to the feeding dish once we are out of sight! This isn’t our complaint about this cat – we and our other cats don’t mind sharing food with her.
Here is the situation that earned her the nickname “That Darned Cat.” During the summer months we are very busy with yard work and gardening, so we are in and out of our garage many times a day. We like to open the garage door for convenience in carrying the needed tools in and out instead of using the entrance door. Herein lies the problem. We just happen to have our new shiny red pickup truck parked in the garage, and every time we leave the overhead door open, we come back to find “that darned cat” perched either on the hood or the roof of our truck!! Needless to say, that doesn’t make us feel very kindly towards her! So now to avoid this problem, we are using the entrance door instead of leaving the garage door open.
You may be asking yourself why we don’t use one of the truck covers that we sell at snjcarcovers.com to protect our new truck. Well, we have a cap on the truck, and most truck covers are designed for capless trucks. We are going to try a little experiment, and we’ll let you know if it works in a future blog. We have purchased one of the largest
SUV covers that we sell hoping that it will fit the truck. Since the cap on our truck is only cab high, it somewhat resembles an SUV.
Keep your fingers crossed, and we’ll let you know who wins : us or “that darned cat!”
In many parts of the country, people are welcoming the coming summer season. Along with summer come many outdoor activities with ATV’s, UTV’s, motorcycles and personal watercraft vehicles such as jetskis. It is also time to break out the riding lawnmower for another season of lawn care.
In order for these “toys” to be kept in good shape, why not consider purchasing a protective cover for when you are not using these vehicles. At snjcarcovers.com, we sell not only covers for your cars, trucks, etc., we also sell ATV covers, UTV covers, motorcycle & scooter covers, jetski covers and lawn tractor covers. Check them out today at our online store!
